Catholic Liturgical Calendar

Follow the Church year day by day: the current liturgical season, upcoming feast days and solemnities, and the vestment color you will see at Mass.

The seasons and their colors

• Advent — purple, with rose on Gaudete Sunday: a season of preparation before Christmas.
• Christmas — white: the Nativity of the Lord through the Baptism of the Lord.
• Ordinary Time — green: growth in the life of faith.
• Lent — purple, with rose on Laetare Sunday: forty days of penance before Easter.
• Holy Week and Pentecost — red: the Passion and the Holy Spirit.
• Easter — white: fifty days of celebration from the Resurrection to Pentecost.

Feast days can override the season's color — the calendar shows each day's celebration alongside that day's Mass readings.
